Forest in Advanced Negotiations to Name Sean Dyche as Manager

Nottingham Forest are in serious discussions to appoint Sean Dyche as their manager.
Dyche stands as the primary candidate to become the next Forest manager, after the sacking of Ange Postecoglou, and the Premier League club aim to finalize a deal on Monday.
Postecoglou was sacked 17 minutes after Forest's 3-0 defeat by Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.
Forest are in the relegation zone in the standings after only a single victory in eight league games, during what has been a campaign of turmoil.
Dyche has had productive negotiations over the past day, and sources close to the hiring process have indicated his prospects of getting the job have improved substantially over the weekend.
Alternative Options Considered
Roberto Mancini has also held discussions with Forest officials, while Fulham manager Marco Silva is highly regarded but tied down.
There is also a large release clause in Silva's deal that has emerged as a factor, given Forest have previously spent on sacking Postecoglou and Nuno Espirito Santo this season.
Whether Silva would be willing to depart Fulham mid-season is also understood to be an obstacle.
Sources are suggesting that Dyche is currently the leading contender, given the difficulties in hiring Silva, while the early interest in Mancini is thought to have diminished.
Forest's Coaching Merry-Go-Round
Forest proprietor Evangelos Marinakis sacked Nuno only three matches into the season and succeeded him with Postecoglou.
The Australian failed to win a game and his termination - just over a month after his hiring on 9 September - resulted in his stint at Forest is the briefest full-time coaching reign in Premier League history.
Dyche was on the books of Forest as a youth team player in the late '80s while Brian Clough was in charge, but did not made a senior appearance.
He has not had a coaching role since being sacked by Everton in January after just under two seasons in command of the Merseyside club.
Dyche won 21, suffered 31 and tied 23 of his 75 Premier League matches as Everton manager, guiding the club to mid-table finishes.
Prior to that, Dyche served almost a decade as Burnley head coach between October 2012 and April 2022, twice achieving promotion to the Premier League and helping the Clarets secure a place for Europe for the first time since 1967.
He also had a stint in charge of Watford for the 2011–2012 season, only to lose his position after a change of the club.
Kettering-born Dyche had his entire playing life as a centre-back outside of the Premier League, making over 500 games for clubs including Chesterfield, Bristol City, Millwall, Watford and Northampton.
